My counselor said these words to me months ago and they clicked immediately. I had always known this intellectually but it clicked on a very deep emotional level and hit me like a sledgehammer.
Seriously, when has begging for love or a relationship ever worked? It is very unattractive behaviour and erodes your own power and self respect.
You don't have to beg someone to treat you well or respect you either.
