One of your kids could make a ginormous "protractor" with a thumbtack, and a string. Put the thumbtack at a center line on the wall, and use a string length and thumbtack placement that allows you to hit (or close) the above mentioned marks for the arches.
See why I said a straight taped line was easiest???? But nowhere near as fun. *sigh* Good things are rarely easy!
