Straight and painted would be easiest. A nice cross hatched combed effect would be cool. As would a fading striation. Those are both difficult though.

A nice soft undulating wave at the bottom of the border might be extra cool. or.....*ding* light bulb moment.

How about a 6" (or so) arch that plummets to the corners, in a faux domed ceiling type of way. Jeepers, wish I were there to draw it on the walls.

How big is the room?
