I wanted to keep you all updated on my sitch. As most of you know, my D was final on 3/6/2007; that was such a blessing and a relief. As Paul Harvey would say, "Now, the rest of the story....."
I came across a Christian gal who seemed very interesting; the only problem was she was in MT and I in CO. Well, I decided to give it a shot and sent her an e-mail. Over the next several days, we e-mailed back and forth.
Finally on a Tuesday night, I asked her if we could talk on the phone; she sent me her phone number and agreed to talk at 8:30 PM. I called her promptly at 8:30 PM. We talked about a variety of things until 4:30 AM! I got a grand total of 23 minutes of sleep!
Over the next week and a half, we chatted for many hours each day. I felt us getting closer and closer. I finally decided I really needed to see if we really had the chemistry in person. I asked her if she would like to meet; I planned to fly to MT that weekend.
When I got to the airport, she was not yet there. I was sitting there, waiting and wondering. What was this woman I liked so much over the phone going to really be like in person? I called her cell phone; she said she was a couple of minutes away. I waited and wondered some more.
My cell phone rang, I looked down at it and had the feeling she was right there! I looked up and there she was! She was much cuter in person than in her pictures! I then got a nice hug! As we walked out to her car, I felt an incredible peace.
We then went to a cute little local restaurant for sandwiches; the conversation flowed just as it had on the phone. We talked about several different things.
Next, we went to a coffee shop to meet a couple from her church. We talked about politics, Christianity, marriage, the Bible and several other topics for over two hours.
We then went back to her house to hang out and walk the dogs. Her house was very nicely decorated and comfortable.
It was then on to dinner at Johnny Carino's. As we were walking in, I noticed some guys checking her out. That was TOO cool! We had a nice dinner, shared a frozen drink and dessert. We were so full!
We went back to her house, watched a movie and spent time close together. It was so awesome!
The next morning, we went to her church; it is so similar to the church I attend. It was so good to be there with her; she was singing along and raising her hands to praise God. How cool is that!?!
We had a nice late breakfast after that at another local restaurant. She seemed to be opening up a bit more. We talked about her coming to CO and going to a wedding back in PA in May. We both wanted to enjoy the moment yet we knew our time together was quickly running out.
On the way to the airport, we talked about what we thought about how the weekend went; we both indicated it went very well. I got out of the car, grabbed my bag and she had come around and was leaning back against the car. Right beside us, there was a woman in a minivan intently watching this unfold. I grabbed her and gave her a big hug. I then watched her as I walked into the airport. That was a tough moment.
Now, we are a couple of days removed from our visit. When we talked, I asked her where she saw this going. We ended up mutually deciding we would date exclusively and see where it goes. I will keep you all updated.
I wish all of you the best! Keep your eyes on Him!
