Ever, sorry your MIL is getting involved in your sitch...I know how hard that can be as I sorta have the same sitch...
His anger will subside and then it will come back...my therapist likened it to you being the sun...your H orbits around you but orbits can make planets go far off into the hinterlands...in an oval but each time they circle they move just that much in closer...eventually he will come around (literally)...what the real catch is, are you gonna be the sun in the middle or will you have turned into a black hole...no sun, no stars...just nothingness....in other words, are you gonna be patient and wait?
I am sorry about the child support thing...but he is their father and he SHOULD be paying support for them...
