In any case, I'm walking a fine line.

For example, she was unnaturally quiet yesterday, with an underlying hint of hostility.

Today, she just seems sad.

Now, if I "noted" that she wasn't feeling good and that she might want to talk to somebody, it would simply go over as meddling.

(I know this, because she's pulled away before from similar suggestions.)

But if I act like nothing's wrong, it goes over as me being uncaring.

Even if she asks me to "help" her get "un-screwed up," my hands are tied.

Argghh.
