Regardless of the controversy that surrounds the idea, attractiveness can be of prime importance to some spouses.

I have read of spouses that walked away because their spouse gained weight, or didn't take care of themselves to the same standards that they did at the start of their marriage. Interestingly, I have read of this where the offended spouse walked away even though they had completely let themselves go, but still held the other spouse to the original standard.

I can't guess as to whether it bothers your hubby or not, but if losing the weight is not a big deal for you, then it won't hurt to try.
