You are much stronger than I am. I am afraid that I would have checked to see who he was calling. But what you did is a much better idea.
The stroking his arm and him not pulling away or running away is a good sign. I can't even get close enough to mine to look him in the eyes, let alone touch him. No face to face talk at all. I guess it will change all in God's time.
Everything happens for a reason, maybe Dad needs to find that it isn't better out there, he needs to realize how good he had it here. Maybe he will find God and that is the most important thing when he finds Him he will know he is supposed to come home.
