Metformin improves insulin sensitivity and helps with weight loss in some patients, particularly in women with PCOS.
Byetta is a newer injectable drug for type 2 diabetes that is apparently showing great promise for weight loss in these patients. I don't have experience with it myself.
Also, you need to keep a sharp eye on your thyroid levels, as these have a huge effect on your ability to lose weight. Some hypothyroid patients do better on Armour thyroid when it comes to weight loss, although I have to admit I have not enjoyed that benefit from it yet. (It has, however, much improved my brain fog and fatigue).
