...Let's start with something specific. In one of my old jobs, there were two people who claimed to be able to see people's auras. They seemed to see the same patterns in the same people. I have no idea how they can "see" something that is not physically there, otherwise we could all see it. But I think they said they "envisioned" the aura, maybe in their mind, and it formed almost an overlay with the actual vision through the eyes.
Can you see auras? If so, have you always been able to see them? If not, how did you develop the ability?
Cobra,
The aura is an effect -- an outward expression -- of that which is taking place within the mind, the soul, and the spirit of the individual.
Seeing an aura requires clairvoyance (clear+seeing) which can be developed if the ability has not surfaced on its own. The colors of the aura cannot be seen with physical eyes, but almost anyone can see the energy of their etheric body (the surrounding energy which exists outwardly a few inches around your physical form) by doing this:
Bring your fingertips of both hands together so they are touching their corresponding left/right counterparts - eg. right index finger touching left index fingertip. You should be in a dimly lit room - not too bright, but not too dark either, with darker colored background elements beyond your hands for contrast. Calm your mind and focus carefully as you pull your hands apart, you may see very subtle strands of energy which may look like wisps of smoke. You might also see subtle "mirage" types of wavering energy like the hot air above a desert highway. If you do not see anything the first time, try again another day at a different time. You will eventually be able to perceive something.
I do not see auras "naturally". Some people like your two former co-workers might be able to do this rather easily, and it becomes almost a parlor game. I do not try to analyze other persons' energy fields because I feel it is usually none of my business tp do so. However, in exercises in classes, we have been asked to draw the aura of a classmate, and it was amazing how consistent the drawings were in terms of specific colors and locations of the colors in the energy field. The various colors can indicate the emotions a person is feeling, the predominate type of personality or focus a person is tied to, or whether there are physical illnesses present in certain areas of their body.
Again, it takes time and practice to develop the ability to use clairvoyance and see auras, and then one needs to learn how to interpret what you see correctly but individually, because every person will experience the sensing in a unique way.
