Cemar did the person intuit purchase orders independant of any data or did he make he organically make judgements after due dillagance and tracking market movement?
Was this question for me? If so, the person I refer to did a lot of work on technical analysis. At the time I did a lot of it too, an even publish a morning technical market commentary to a small sister brokerage company. I have long ago learned to mostly ignore fundamentals. I do watch them for overall valuations levels and keep my fair market value model updated, but this is more important for setting or confirming the secular market cycle and direction.
IMO swings in the markets require technicals, whether that be tape reading, elliott wave analysis, cycle analysis, investor sentiment, etc.
Hairdog,
Just finished a chapter on how to read people's expressions. It is not a how-to guide, but rather, recognizes that there are things we perceive that are beyond our conscious perception.
I used to get into palm reading, looking not only at the lines, but the overall shape and “type” of the hand and fingers, color, finger nails, how the person holds and uses his/her hands. I found the insight to be quite useful and fairly accurate, at least as far as grouping people in general buckets. I also had a book long ago from my mom, I think, that gave similar ways of analyzing a person’ face. The set of the eyes, nose, mouth, the proportions between these, the type of ear, all this told you a little bit about the person.
Going back to that old trader I knew, and other people I have known who I believe have an intuitive gift, I do know he had what the Japanese call the “mystic cross” in both his palms. That is usually a sure sign that the person has good intuitive or premonition abilities.
There are usually two lines running horizontally across the palm, from the left and the right. The one starting between the thumb and index finger is the “head” line, pertaining to intellect, rationality, etc. The one starting below the pinky is the “heart” line, pertaining to emotion. Sometimes these two lines are one (implying that person can be very obstinate and opinionated). Another line usually starts close to the beginning of the head line, and may even branch from the head line. This is your life line and speaks toward your health and life.
I remember my middle brother’s wife had a huge “island” on her life line. I told her that could mean a severe life threatening illness or trauma, which she may or may not survive. Later it turned out she had AIDs and eventually died.
Often parallel to this life line is another line running vertically through the middle of the palm up toward either the middle or index finger. This is your “fate” line and deals with your successfulness in life. This line usually crosses through the head and heart lines. If between the head and the heart there is another small line that crosses the fate line, making an “X” between the head and heart, then you have the mystic cross.
