Long ago I used to know a retired man who day traded the futures markets. He could look at the charts and just “feel” which way the market would trade. Of course there was a lot of work and study behind that, but in the end, his intuition guided him.

The fact of the matter is that we live in a world ruled by probability rather than clockwork. Your friend is just like the racetrack gambler who has developed a good feeling for horseflesh and the million other variables that go into a horse race. There's just no getting around the fact that in the end it is a gamble, not a sure thing. Have you tied up your resources in a relationship that is never going to pay more than 3% out of fear that you might lose it all on a riskier proposition with higher potential payoff? Perhaps the function of this BB is to make this type of "guess" more educated since none of us can accumulate enough experience about primary relationships on our own. When we apply the principles of SSM or PM to our situations this is no different than trying to gain leverage through the application of an expert system when trading stocks.
