MoJo has it when it comes to buying used books. I suspect it comes from years and years of practice. Like you said having a willingness to be wrong till you get better.
I have trouble believing in telepathic connection, but no trouble with experience based intuition. I think lots of people have the potential to develop intuition and the ability to interpret patterns. After all, is there really that many new things in the world that don't have a basis built on some existing knowledge or established patterns?
Cobra, I like the idea "learning to read" someone. The first thing I think you have to do is stop thinking about what you think about the OP and stop thinking about a reply you are drafting in your mind that is commonly called a response to what the OP said or did.
You have to see where they are coming from and look at patterns from past experiences to see where they were going, and factor in current information.
