I don't think your W has to recognize your want as valid in order to get her to act as though she believes it is valid. You've lost sight of the original goal: a BEHAVIORAL change. Changing her mind is not a worthy goal-- that is hopeless unless she changes it on her own. This would be the equivalent of asking a spouse to go to church with you even if she is not a believer, which I think is a perfectly reasonable request.
