It can be emotionally exhausting to try to keep in touch with the inlaws but all the power to you for doing it. In the end though Faith you are so right blood is thicker than water and they will even chose their son over their grandchildren. Sometimes it is necessary to even go dark on the inlaws.
My ds do see my inlaws and therefore I do not have to make an effort for them.
