I hope your weekend is going okay, Phoenix. Mine is one of searching for tiles and flooring ... such mundane, ordinary H/W activities, and I am thankful for it, after all we have been through. I hope you will have that soon! Not that things are perfect, but so much better than it was.
I resigned from my job yesterday. My boss was somewhat surprised and a little stressed since we are short staffed, but it's my life, and I have to do what's best for me, not for my boss. I did say I would stay on for the next two weeks, and if they are desperate for someone, would help out if it's during the week. Otherwise, I am free to pursue my own passions and interests. Yay! I may register for 3 courses next semester, so I can finish my certificate sooner.
If anyone is interested in SciFi and/or Fantasy, I may ask you to read the first chapter of my book, as soon as I have finished it, to get some feedback. I am aiming for the end of April, after my exams.
Otherwise, life is good. I am excited about our future, if somewhat cynical, but that's not always a bad thing, 'eh.

Congrates on the occupational change. I too would like to get W home and away from job. The remodel stuff sounds great to me too. Time and teamwork seem to me more of the problem. Hopefully that will change soon. Not as much now, but back 15 years ago I was quite the SciFi/trekie. Now a days my fill usually comes in the forms of movies. Anyhow, add me to your list.
Actually, I am somewhat tired of renovating houses. Every house we have ever bought, in our 20+ years of M, needed some major renovating, usually the flooring and kitchen. I don't mind painting, and sewing, but when you have to replace bathrooms, carpeting, other flooring, doors, etc., then it gets a bit much. I would rather be doing something else. The next house we buy must be finished, and not need anything major.
That being said, I know this is something we have to do, so I am trying to do so in as methodical fashion as possible. H can't do much, since he's at work, and will be away during the week (and he has always been the main worker when renovating ... he is really good at doing it, but it takes time away from weekends, and evenings). Although, he will be doing the laminate flooring in the lounge, dining area, and hallway, next weekend. My S19 will help, I'm sure. I have organized for the carpeters to come in next week to carpet the three upstairs bedrooms.
I have also made an appointment for the bath fitters to come and give us a quote for redoing our main bathroom, and putting a shower in our basement bathroom (which just has a toilet and basin in it at present). Also, need to get cupboards for the laundry room, since the shower from the basement bathroom will encroach into the laundry's present cupboard space.
I have also bought some of the paint for all the doors in the house (I prefer white doors, rather than the dark, faux wood, colour). My son said he will finish the family room walls - they needs mudding, sanding, and painting. I also need to buy curtains for the family room, lounge, dining area, and study. Also, have to get the study carpet cleaned.
Then, come March, I have to find a garden service to come and help me with the garden. I am not a naturally gifted gardener, but am keen. However, I don't want to kill everything, so need some assistance with pruning, mowing the lawn, and weeding the beds, and dealing with pests, getting the right combo for the veggie patch soil, etc. We actually intended buying a house with a small garden, but ended up with almost a quarter acre. Yikes!
If you have read this far, then thanks! It helps get my thoughts organized when I write it down. Maybe not the best venue, but this is all part of the progress I am making in my life. I have been feeling the need for more order, and this will definitely help.

Re the book I am writing ... I find Sci-Fi and Fantasy a great escape (although, I prefer pure Sci-Fi such as Asimov and Clarke wrote/write), and creating my own world is very therapeutic for me. Whether it ever gets published, is another thing, but I will be creating a website where I can load each chapter as it gets finished.
Just another part of the process of pursuing what interests me. It would make me a better person to live with, I think.

Still having problems linking on this new version. Mmmm!

S19 had an accident with my car last nightm (he is unhurt, thank goodness). My H's reaction, although justified, got me so riled up. I just wish sometimes, that he would be calmer about things. He gets super upset over the littlest things. So, he was a volcano last night.
I am sad about my car, and it will cost quite a bit to fix, especially since we don't want to use the insurance (will affect our payments for the next 8 years - IOW, we would end up paying double). Sigh! There's always something, 'eh! Phew! Feel better just writing this down.
