Hey Corri - re: the SSRIs, I used to take Effexor and, even though I followed the weaning schedule, it really sucked, big time, for about three weeks after I stopped. It also sucked each time my dosage went down, prior to stopping. Afterwards, I read message boards where people would actually break open the capsule and take 1 or 2 fewer of the little tiny pills each day (1000, 998, 996, etc) until they were weaned.
Oh, and because you mentioned it over in my thread, I think I already have a pair of your pointy toed witch shoes in the back of my closet. You loaned 'em to me one other time I initiated "the talk." Just need to dust them off and get my shoehorn.
