1210, a few months ago my children got their first hamster, it was an old one given to them by a friends family who were getting a dog. After two months the hamster died in youngest D's hands. It was so traumatic for those kids, I cried because I was so overwhelmed by their grief. I've never really had a pet myself but the emotion and love I saw those little girls give that small creature proved to me the wonders of having a pet. The R they had with this $7 hamster was worth far more than its miniscule monetary value. They also had to deal with the death of something they loved, for the first time and they grew because of it. I know a rodent cannot compare to the R's people have with their cats/ dogs etc. but I certainly do feel for you. So stay strong, cry lots and let us all know how you're doing.
