1210.... I am so sorry for you. XW and I had to put down our first cat the day after we found out her Dad was terminal w/ Cancer... We had the him for almost 12 years and he was HUGE; over 20 lbs and it wasn't fat. Not the nicest, cuddliest cat, but it still hurt bad.
Then D15 had to put down her cat 3 years ago; she'd had him since she was 2; she insisted on going in and holding her b/c as she said "She's always been there for me, I HAVE to be there for her"...

This really sucks; our pets are a huge part of our lives. Hope you get through this. Might you be able to ask XH to go w/ you when the time comes? That may give you some insight into where his emotions are these days.
