Exploratory questions...open ended... that give all kinds of escapes and outs for him. You know the sitch.
Here is a silly example for me (c. 1989).. dated a girl for two years who left me for her boss at a job I secured for her with Hewlitt Packard.. I know ... anyway.. she wanted me back after 18 months..
Q. So.. What have you learned over the last months ?
A. What ?
Q. I just wanted to know about you ? You are ok, right ?
A. Well.. sure I am fine.
Q. With yourself too, right ?
A. Of course I am ! ( )
Q. Oh good !.. Why are you here ?
A. What do you mean Why am I here ?
Q. What happened ? ( the stage is set.. open ended.. honest answer or a bunch of stuff, eh ?)
A. Oh.. I was so wrapped up in my job.. blah blah blah..
I learned alot from that btw.. Come on 1210.. you know this drill.
The answer did not address the problem nor give a real answer. I walked at the end of the evening btw and never looked back.
Beat around the bush.. and let the bush lose its leaves !?
