LNL - The range is huge. In the States, where people have access to all the new drugs, there are some people who were quite sick earlier who are doing well now, 20 years later. (Although, lest anyone out there think this is a reason to be less than careful, quality of life on all those drugs is not always that great - plus not everyone does that great.)
There's also a very very tiny minority of people who get infected but don't get sick - has something to do with the genetics of the surface proteins on their cells.
