want2believe, i am always a little hesitant to give "advice" because i may be wrong. i can only tell you what i would do. it's Christmas...your h left you. you do what you & the kids want to do-do what you will be most comfortable w/. i was hoping my h would stay over Christmas Eve-he's not. he is coming Christmas morning; but, i had already made up my mind that the kids & i were going to do what we wanted to Christmas Eve & Day and if my h wanted to join us-fine. it has been hard for me & i haven't always been successful; but, i am trying to learn to do things w/o my h and as if my h was not coming home (which he says he's not). the holidays are a time when we as a family have lots of traditions, i think as LBS's we have to decide which traditions to keep & which to let go of and it may also mean starting new ones.
i can't tell you what to do- i am only suggesting that you do what is best & most comfortable for you & your children.
i sorry if i've not helped.
