Hi, kids....haven't been around much, but I do lurk occasionally. Sometimes I nearly fall off my chair reading some of these threads...the similarities in our situations is just astounding. ANyway, not to get off the subject too far, I can't just let this lie there:

My vote is for the vasectomy. If you change your mind, it is possible to get it reversed, and there is always the possibility of adoption.

While it is true, you can get a vasectomy reversed, it is extrordinarily rare that this procedure will restore fertility...at least, what most of us think that means. (babies from sex!). sure, sperm will flow, but they won't likely work anymore. I won't bore you with the details...anyway, I've seen so many stories on this situation on the infertility boards that I used to frequent. typical scenario: a DH gets snipped for his first W...second W wants it un-snipped...still no babies...only hope is extremely expensive procedures that still only have a very slim chance of ever working, and won't be covered by any insurance because they're brought on by *voluntary* sterilization...
point is: the "V" is absolute, and permanent. If you aren't on that bandwagon, don't do it. being able to switch back and forth (would be great!..but) is the stuff of silly TV drama.
