Hey Muddle, Can you ask her how she would like you to show respect? Get some concrete direction? It's easy for her to whip out words like "respect" etc. to lash you with but can she tell you her version of respect. If reasonable, agree to do it. I'm glad you still feel some peace in your life, it's damn hard right now. She sounds like a child in the midst of a dispute with a sibling! Has she stuck her tongue out yet?
