Oh, Mea,
I'm so sorry, but I laughed myself silly over this one. I'll never understand why family and friends want to fix us up w/someone. I've always liked the saying "you two will get along like a house on fire". These blind dates usually don't work out. Some do, but the majority leave you asking yourself what where you thinking when you said yes you'll try it.
Chalk this one up for the funnies and don't be too upset over it. When you think about it, you really do have to laugh about it. Thank goodness you weren't out of a lot of money for the meal.
Trust yourself when setting up dates. Leave the family and friends on the curb. Thank them for being kind and considerate, but then toss out those little hints of blind dates.
BTW, remind me to tell you the story about one of my blind dates and the man I labeled "gramps". I still laugh about that one and it's almost as good as your blind date.
I hope you catch up w/the xh very soon and get your house issues resolved. Hope your family is doing okay.
Hang in there.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
Oh Mea! I had been reading something sad and had tears running down my face when I read your story about the weally weally bad blind date! - I feel much better now. Thanks so much for sharing- and I hope CD pops into the world of the living soon! DBH
I had to post to you. I'm in stitches and I can hardly breathe laughing myself silly over your weally weally bad blind date. Thanks for your story. It is such a hoot. Man oh man...so you have joined us finally. My one yr will be coming up in Nov. But it doesn't seem to matter anymore since I don't even have contact with my X. The only time when I will have to see him face to face is when I decide to sell the house. I need his signature to do it. Otherwise, I am happily living my life as a single parent.
Mea, or we should say, " Mea Jones Diary" I have been on some doozie dates before, but yours had to be the funniest I have heard in ages!! too much! What a skin flint! What was your friend thinking? LOL
Dont worry though, it gets better--- its gotta right?
Be Happy for this Moment, This Moment is your Life
What a hoot! Your blind date was a real stormer! Oh how funny you are ,you cheeky woman you! Hmm.. a humourless ,mean spirited man.. nothing worse! Definitely not for you!
You certainly deserve a medal for that performance!
You are a very attractive woman and when you are ready ,you will I think ,have no difficulty meeting a really great guy whom you will deserve, and who deserves a unique and hilarious person like you!
Must be someone with your sense of humour or you will be bored though!
I've never been on a blind date.. sounds scary! If one is ever offered I think I will avoid!
Mind you a dear close friend,in the walking group, so lovely and so funny, 60s widowed for 7 years, never looked to another man ,is now in loving bliss as her doting family arranged for her to sit beside an old school chum, recently widowed, at a family wedding.. They got chatting..result.. mad crazy romance, like two teens!! It is so great to see her so happy! She is one of these hilarious, kind , sparky women who everyone likes.Life and soul of the party, lives for her family and walking! Not a blind date and not so awkward.
Another guy met his partner at the wedding of another group member.. so weddings are kind of romantic places it seems!
Anyway I know you will keep strong and clear about what you want from your life and make sure you are not shortchanged or undersold! Well I was told last week amidst great hilarity, by a client who knows me too well, that I was definately a long term resident of the naughty corner, so I know you will join me there and we can have lots of fun! Take care,
You certainly have a way w/ words and that "date" story is no exception. What a disaster! I must say though that I will be sorry if you don't go out on more blind dates, as we will be missing out on more hilarious tales!
Where do you come up with this stuff?? I was cracking up reading this, I even shared this with a group of friends this weekend and they too were cracking up.....
Blind dates are not for me either. I went on one in my life and never again!! Was not nearly as comical or hilarious as this though!!
Sounds like you are in good spirits..
Sorry to hear the old Chip-dick is messing around with the property!! Go get em!!
Keep in touch, get that e-mail back up and running-
Thanks for the blind date story. I hope my theoretical blind date doesn't go that bad. FWIW, I heard that was the BEST way to meet a NG...through family or friends. Hmmm.. So, when is the autobiography coming out? Good luck with Chipdick.
