So where's Hairdog! He hasn't come back here with his annual update on how the big day went!!!

Could it be? His wife had a total personality change, took him to bed and wore him out so thoroughly that he's still recovering in deep slumber?

Hairdog is one of those people that-- gasp! -- post from work. So we hardly ever hear from him on the weekends.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, my friends.

I went into the day with low expectations, and it did not disappoint. Best things: my kids actually did what I asked them to do--cleaned the house (so I wouldn't have to). I got a nap. My son cooked breakfast and dinner for me. My daughters made a cake for me (with some of my help). My W was gone most of the day, doing her walking/training for the big breast cancer walk next month, and yes, that falls under the "best things" column.

The high point of the weekend was a bicycle ride I took yesterday with DD5 on her trail-gator. We met W for lunch at the end of the ride, and at the end of mile number eight of the 18 she would walk that day. It was a beautiful day.

Enough said.
