H had a disc removed, bone put in, and a titanium plate with a couple of screws to hold it together. He seems to be doing better today -- he's just doing ibuprofen which seems to be helping perhaps more than the narcotics were. Right now, his throat is still incredibly sore. They had to move him around alot and stretch him out during the surgery, and the tube really left him with a *very* painful throat. (This is a result of that car accident, btw. He had some degeneration but was doing OK, actually getting better, until the accident. But, the speech issue that came with the post-concussive stuff seems to have really cleared up in the last month )
