Did you ever see that movie Big Fat Greek Wedding? There's a line in it that I think of in times like this:

The mother & daughter are talking about the father being stubborn: "Ma, Dad is so stubborn. What he says goes. "Ah, the man is the head of the house!"
Mother says:
