I will try to help you do the exercise but it is only the beginning and the author gives a lot of background cause it's really about switching your vibrational level. The self-appreciation word is to help you flip from negative to positive. Some of my words have been: "I'm loving", "I'm funny","I'm passionate". As soon as I notice I'm am thinking or feeling something like worry or resentment,concern or any low vibrational feeling I automatically say my word or phrase and then I try to feel my word or phrase. To do that you have to get in touch with something that just by thinking about it it puts you in feel good mode.
