Hi Gel,

You really shouldn't hesitate to write things in case we are jealous, you are just such an inspiration. The board is full of people putting in honest effort and still making slow progress and sometimes you can get to wondering whether it's all worth it - but you're showing us that it is! I for one am happy for you.

Beaming good health vibes your H's way too ~:)~:)~:)~:)~:)~:)~:)

take care

Fran

I would like to echo everyone's statements here. If I didn't hear a success story here and there then there would be no reason to try to stick it out.

Wow! It's been quite some time since I updated our sitch hasn't it?

Really not much new to report, things are still going pretty well for us. Unfortunately due to my H taking our son on vacation to GA for a week, then his church camp for a week, my breaking my arm and just life in general we haven't been burning up the sheets....but that's ok. We're still ML more often than we ever did, and the EC is maintaining, which is great.

My H still occasionally slips back into some old behaviors...but I bring them to his attention and they generally get corrected pretty fast. For example....oh about a month ago we managed to ML two nights in a row (a first for us)....without saying a word to me he assumed that now that's what I would want all the time and shut down on me about it. This issue was brought to light quickly in MC though and I basically dared him to "test" me and talk to me about stuff like that. I dared him to one night, when he truly wasn't up to ML to tell me so and see how I responded rather than "assuming" how I would behave. Ever since then he has started testing those waters, which is just fine with me....it's a type of communication he wouldn't touch before.

HE is also now talking more about the fact that we don't manage to have sex as often as HE'd like to (words I never thought I'd hear.) How often is that? I don't know...it's just nice to know that he does think about it...with me. He's also (I believe) working on breaking through his mental barrier about telling me what he wants sexually speaking. He's also recognizing and working on letting me know he does think about me sexually when we do haveour sexual lulls (sometimes caused by sheer exhaustion and a busy life LOL). He's understanding now that at least communicating that to me during our lulls helps me to still feel close to him and helps foster that EC between us.

Like I told our MC yesterday, we've come lightyears from where we were three years ago.

Gel,

Glad to hear things are moving along. Sorry about your arm - just how did you do that? Did you fall out of some sort of sexual apparatus or what?

LOL Karen,

Ummmm no nothing so exciting. Three weeks ago my 16.5 hand paint Stormy spooked, bucked, and threw me. First broken bone I've ever had. Better my arm than my head though. You could tell in his eyes he felt bad about it.

wearing a cast, but still typing....
My MC accident last year was not the first, but it was the first broken bone I ever had too.
I remember thinking. Must be getting old. Nahhh. Just gotta get back in the Dojo, and stay limber.

Since everyone seems to be all in a tizzy over size, I have to say,
Thats an unusally large Paint you have there.

I have Paint envy.

LOL BF,

Yes, he is an unusually large Paint, I intend to train him Hunter/Jumper because of his height. Actually both of my paints are unusually tall boys (same sire). They're actually taller than their sire and either of their dams. My friends tell me I tend to grow animals huge LOL. All of my pets have grown unusually large....that's what love'll do for ya!

This cast hasn't slowed me down much...instead of typing 90wpm....it's more like 45wpm LOL Pretty inconvenient, but bearable....however I do tend to run words together because I miss the space bar half the time LOL.

At least they removed the permanent cast today and gave me a removeable one. My bones appear to be over achievers in the healing dept, but apparantly they aren't made out of high density rubber....like I was beginning to believe.

I never thought my bones were rubber, just thought I was really good at falling. Still do.

ok yes I did. and when we were <ahem> younger they were rubberyer. <cool a new word>

One concession I made after my last asccident is that I now wear armor/jacket, every time. doesnt feel nearly as good as tank tops and shorts ......but all of my wrecks have involved road rash to the shoulders and elbows. kinda unavoidable with that whole high speed rolling, tumbling, on the pavement, and I am tired of picking gravel out of my elbows for years after. since MC accidents are WAY up in the past few years (the percentage has tripled) I am mitigating my risk and making a couple nods to my mortality.

so since you were a pro, I know you have or have used jumper vests. The vest makes it easier for the body to accept, not using the arms. still need to train the body, judo or tumbling classes would be the best choices.

glad you are healing up quick.

BF,

Yep, I'm familiar with the vest you refer to, and agree wth you on training the body for movement tp reduce the risk of injury (I was a gymnast for several years, along with figure skating, soccer (20yrs)....oh and ballet for many as well...geesh, I kept my folks busy!!! One of the first things I teach people when learning to ride, is how to fall off, minimizing the risk of injury (or completely avoiding it). Unfortunately, as you know with MC's accidents aren't always completely avoidable

What type of MC do you ride? I used to have a Harley I really enjoyed (76' Superglide)...my H wants to buy a Ninja type MC. My type of horsepower still comes on the hoof though

Thanks for the idea about Judo though, just may look into that.
