Instead of telling him how great I thought he was doing (which inside I really was proud of him), I never said anything - I didn't want to be like everyone else. This is a very common that SO's do witht he one their with when the other is getting this kind of shallow adoration. Marcia Lucas, Elenore COppola, to name two that I read about talking about this recently.
