Don't forget Annie Jump Cannon, who was instrumental in forming our current understanding of stars. She was hired along with a number of other women to just be sorters of data (they called them "computers"). But her interest in the subject led to her see patterns in the data and revolutionize our understanding.
Marvel, GEL, DN, and others
I think everyone has gotten off on the wrong foot. Maybe we can just all take a deep breath, forget what was said, and start over. I think CeMar's advice is good Marvel, perhaps the best thing to do would be to start your own thread, that way people have a framework by which they can better understand your comments. We have a wide variety of viewpoints here. Someone who reads Stig or BF for the first time would probably completely misunderstand their comments because of the unusual tone. Maybe the same has happened here.
