Well, I switched OBs, changed practices entirely to get into a high risk maternal and fetal health practice. New doc is *great.* He immediately questioned reducing the thyroid meds and said that we need to check that with among other things, a free T3 and a free T4. So, I feel like I am finally in good hands. He's going to do all my endocrine work for the rest of the pregnancy.

He also started me on metoclopramide b/c my BGs are harder to manage. They seem to go up 3-4 hours after a meal, after the short acting insulin has run out. He explained this could be because of a slow stomach from the pregnancy, and the new med should help. This is something my old Endo, who I say just three weeks ago, never even mentioned as a possibility.

I'm pretty angry about it too, as the baby has grown from being 3-4 days ahead in size to being over the 90th percentile I guess this is now about 10 days ahead in size. (On the positive side, the femur length is more ahead in growth than the tummy. Tall leggy girl like you, lol )

So, the new doc has already decided to deliver me a week early. Will have to see about C section, but I'll be getting regular ultrasounds to check growth.

It is soooooo good to be with a decent practice

Best,
Oldtimer

Egad... avoid the C section if you can. Total nightmare.

Hi, Ellie!

Just stopping in to say hello and try to catch up with you, only there's no catching up with YOU to be done! My, my, there's a lot of other people's business over here!

You sound good, though, and so glad the HI trip didn't trigger any setbacks.

Take care.
Jennifer

Hey there, Jen -
Haven't been posting much, went on vacation then spent the last week sick with a wicked case of turista. Doing better now but have a lot of catching up to do around the house.

Things are still going well with H. Kids are okay this week. Spring has sprung and my garden is full of flowers, and S19 will be home from college in a month.

College goes so fast, doesn't it? I remember thinking in freshman year that it would be a long way to graduation. I wonder if S19 feels that way right now?

Any tips on where a new gardener can learn about things beyond changing spark plugs on a mower? There's stuff in my yard that I can't identify, and I don't want to rip out something that would have bloomed later in the year just because I don't know what it is.

Thanks,

Joe

Joe -
I learned everything I know from the Sunset Western Garden Book - but you're on the east coast, aren't you? So it wouldn't help you much!

I do have one word for you - perennials!!!! Annuals are just too much work - get some nice perennials in and they'll take care of themselves after a while.

Hi Ellie,

Just read through your thread and it reminded me of so much to read your story again.

Hope you are feeling better and you are an inspiration even though I am no longer dbing.

Hey there Pam -
I didn't know your OW had a twin sister
What DOES go through those women's heads, anyway????

You sound like you're in a good place - certainly your responce sounds a lot more mature than mine on that other thread!!!

LOL

I'm thinking GO ELLIE!!!!!!

I didn't know my OW had a twin either till came across that post.

I don't really understand when they have the man why they don't just look forward and see if they can build a happy future. Why in the world waste emotion and energy looking back or sideways????

Because they KNOW the man they got still isn't over his ex and they are so jealous they can't stand it. She seems to be SO bothered by that picture of Lexemom - gosh, I thought it was pretty and tastefully done! And she thinks she's won some prize, when the guy isn't even paying his child support? Wonder how much of a prize she'll think she's won a few years from now, when he's stiffing HER on child support????

Of course, they believe what they hear from the WAS - they WANT to believe it so they don't have to face the ugly truth about their own actions. Obviously this OW feels just guilty enough that she has to believe Lexemom was a demon in order to justify her affair. She must be pretty desperate.
