Check the park district. They have excellent yoga classes at ours and it is cheap. Also videos can usually be taken out of the Library (if you ever repair your AV equipment).
I was trying to buy a scales at the store and i hopped on it and i was about 10 lbs ligher than i thought i was! Of course i bought a set, couldn't find anywhere on the box where it said what kind of batteries, got it home and it takes one of those 9v ones. I don't have one. Grrrr.

1042 calories today. Cup and a half of coffee with cream and sugar, 3 rice cakes, one sausage on a stick (lol) and for dinner tonight I'm forcing myself to eat a bowl of FF cottage cheese and fresh fruit.

Becca- Some people have all the luck!!! You weighed less then you thought you did, and you stuck to your diet. Awesome for you.
I ended up eating WAYYY too many mini donuts last night out of nervousness. <sigh>
I am up 2 pounds. I decided yesterday to stop my Premarin. There is the side effect of rapid weight gain, and I have really gained since starting those. I am going to try to stick to the Soy Menopause supplement for now and see what happens. I didn't take it last night, but I woke up with the night sweats. Could be coincidence too because when I eat too close to bedtime, especially high fat/sugar/carbs...I sweat no matter what. Haha...menopause is so classy!
Other then the pigout on the donuts I did really well otherwise. As usual I got my water in. I had an apple for breakfast, rice cakes for lunch and a skinny cow for dinner. I had two cups of green tea also. I ordered the Hoodia diet pills and I am waiting for those to come in. I know they won't help if I don't change my diet and activity level. So, all together I am hoping to start slowly seeing results.
Always....how did you do?

Yesterday: bad. Drank 3 glasses of water, ate little (in meetings all day) and did not work out. UGH!
Today: Much better start! Worked out--strength..upper and lower body. It had been 1 week since I went in and I can tell the difference...muscles a little more tired (maybe in my head, who knows). Feel great after workout. Plan to drink 4 glasses of water and eat a good breakfast and lunch and dinner. Try to get some fruits in there (orange). I am taking my vitamin too (H gave it to me last last night...I think it may have an affect on my sleep). Slept well last night...which was good. Not to get too personal here, but I'm trying a new birth control (the ring) and I think it may have a little affect on sleep (little better) and my moods (little skiddish) and stomach. But, I feel better now.
I've also been trying something else...to support feeling good the last few weeks, I've been wanting to take time with my dress (nothing fancy), hair, etc. It makes me feel good--I'm not a girly girl, but it helps! Not to get anyone's attention, but my own.
I was supposed to run (I'm NOT a runner) in a relay in May, and I started working out in earnest with that. Now that I think about it, with the trip and all, I don't think I can do it. I wanted to push myself and do it for me, like a goal thing, but I like the pace I'm at in getting shape and don't feel bad letting it go this time. I might make a goal for myself in 2006, to run a race, or something and work towards that. It feels good to make that decision.
Always- You got some water in, so that's good! It sounds like you hardly ate at all yesterday. That's not good!
So here's my menu and such for the day: Breakfast/Lunch- FF Yogurt and an apple Snack: 1 low fat graham cracker and 2 plain rice cakes. For dinner: I made a cucumber and tomato salad with FF Italian dressing to put over a bed of fresh spinach and have with chicken soup. Water- Drank plenty. 3 cups of green tea. I plan on having one or two light beers when/if H comes to visit tonight.
WW points= 14 out of my 18-25 range Calories= 1024 Fat grams= 11 Exercise- Haven't stopped yet today!
Not too bad!

Just remember to eat all your points you don't want your metabolism to slow down. That is the reason for the minimum on the points with WW.
Always,
You need to eat more, when you starve yourself your metabolism slows down your body starts to store fat. When your body is starving it turns your lean muscle into fat for energy. That can be difficult to reverse. Eat healthy snacks veggies-grapes and such. Make better choices with what you do eat. I know one donut has as many calories as an entire meal. Make a lifestyle change don't go on a diet, they never last.
We are here for the long haul with our relationships lets not cheap out on our health.
Thanks for the reminder Sweet_Heart. I will only have to have four more points to be at my minimum. Maybe I'll have some fresh fruit salad that I threw together last night. Do you do WW's?
I am keeping track of my progress (just started today) on a neat website Becca gave me. To get to my goal by June 1st...I have to lose 2.2 pounds a week. It's going to be tough but I am determined!!!!!
Would you like to join us on this thread? I don't know if you are looking to lose weight or change to a healthier lifestyle. Just a thought.

Sure thanks! Yes I did WW for my first 20 pounds but then stopped after I got the ILY but I'm not in love with you speach. I don't know if you got that one but the first thing I did was run to the bathroom to hurl.
I am now down 35 pounds total, it fell off after I started running. I don't know how much weight I would like to loose but I would like to have my 24" waist back.
I see you guys posted you stats so here are mine from last month. age 38 5'4" -145# Bust 37.5" waist 29" hips 39"
Goal 24 " waist the rest I don't much care about. I am what my H calls thick (which is a good thing). I was 133-135 in high school and that was a good weight for me. Of course that was a long time ago. I missed my thin waist which I hadn't had since I gave birth.
Since my H returned 2/11 (after 6 weeks) then left 2/26 I have been distracted from my goals. Of course I need to go through detachment all over again which sucks. So I could really use a kick in the but to get motivated again.
I am currently not working although I am being trained to teach aerobics at the YMCA. Part of my GAL since I am a stay at home mom it is difficult to distract myself. I am trained in the culinary arts and am certified in Nutrition although when I worked I was a pastry chef. Not many nutrients in cake.
I didn't get the ILYBNILWY speech. I wasn't that lucky. I got a H who looked me in the eye and flat out told me he no longer loved me and that he loved OW. Our son was only 7 months old so I was still carrying some of that weight. In one month I dropped 40 pounds and got down to 118. I loved it! I now take hormone replacement therapy and I think that packed some serious weight on me. I am looking to lose atleast 25 pounds.
Sooo......now it's time for me to lose the weight again and get back into my clothes!!
You and I are about the same weight. Are you going to count points again? I would love to swap WW recipes with you. I am always on the lookout for a WW's nachos recipe.
Well, I followed your advice and had a skinny cow for dessert. I think they are two points. I buy the chocolate mint ones, if you read back you'll notice that is one of my weaknesses.
So I am happy to say that so far I have made my goals for the day. This is day 2 off the premarin and I actually had a little more energy today considering I woke up at 5:30 this morning. I am also taking myself off my Zelnorm. It doesn't work and I think it just bloats me.
New goal: No snacking after dinner. It makes it easier to stay in my point range and off the Premarin.
Happy healthy day!
