Cheers--Here's to our health.

We come here for advice, to vent and to share about our Ms, our spouses and our strategies on this journey. By now, we've all learned that the first thing to take a hit is our health--mental and physical. Yet, the biggest step in taking care of the R is taking care of US, and seeing to our health is such a boost.

If we have good health through the journey, we feel good, we look good, we act good and we believe that we ARE good. Of course we are! So, Becca, SE and I are starting this thread in hopes of getting everyone to share the positive parts of their journey as individuals and to finally work towards those health goals that may have taken a back seat...what do you do that makes you feel good? what health goals have you set? How do you plan to get there? Any tips, advice, recipes? Can you join to encourage others? How does getting healthy make you feel good and have a positive impact on your efforts?

Whether you want to run a marathon, fit into those great jeans, improve a health condition or just plain feel good...COME SHARE WITH US AS WE GROW STRONG TOGETHER!

For me:
Age: 31
H: 5"5'
W: 110
Physical Health Goals: good, balanced diet. Cut sugar. Drink enough water. Exercise 3-4x/week (cardio and weight bearing). Complete all annual medical exams (dental, vision, etc). Meditate. Yoga. Better sleep. Regular intake of vitamins.

Emotional Health Goals: Less negative thoughts. Wake up and meditate on positive thoughts. Better focus on other tasks in life (work, etc). Back in regular touch with friends. 1-2 nights/week for ME night/time. 1 night/week with friends. Better touch with family. Volunteer. Read more. Plug away at work goals. Focus on letting go, no expectations of H. Be loving and kind.

Biggest Improvement: regular exercise. Nothing heroic, just that I go 3-4x/week and feel GREAT...seriously has been an anti-depressant on many days. I feel strong and see improvement.

Tips: Exercise in morning, start slow and add 1 minute every other routine. This revs metabolism in morning and lots of energy through day. You are hungry for breakfast and burn it faster.

Healthy Recipe: Quick breakfast: 1 can of Slimfast or 12 oz soy milk + handful of frozen berries in a plastic bottle...shake and drink. Protein, fiber, 1 serving of fruit and antioxidants. Can add coffee to the shake for flavor and caffeine.

I was a bum today, but intend on taking a 1 mile walk.
