I don't go along with the all will drive off a cliff. I fail to believe that anyone that views or works in this industry will fall off that cliff or be forever scarred or emotional wrecked by it. To big of a blanket for everyone to fit under.
Every college person that attends a Keg party while in college is not destined to be a drunken wreck nor is ever person that sits down and plays friday night poker with the guys twice a month destined to be a uncontrollable gambler. Nor is every bar tender that serves a person drinks going to be scarred for the rest of there lifes nor every person that deals a set of cards out. To me it is all the same if you say every person who views porn will have long term bad side of effects then you have to say everyone who drinks a beer in his life will have long term bad side effects.
I know alot of people who went to keggers who now live healthy productive lifes they grew up and grew out of that party phase but look fondly back at the fun it gave them. I also know a few strippers past and present who look at it with the same party had fun mind frame. They are healthy adults with normal lifes and not dragging around lots of baggage from the past.
My hopes for my daughter is that she will wake up one morning and decide that the party life of the club she works in is fun and the money is great but hey its time to grow up and do something more responsible with my life. If not well her choice. Just like the person who went to the keg partys who at age 40 still think life should be nothing more then a party.
Some girls wouldn't get into it if they saw the end result....that's who I was talking about.
You are right some would not. But alot still would we do not live in a uninformed society. We all see the effects of reality from a early age. Has any one of us not seen the effects drinking and driving can have. Or playing with guns. Or playing something as innocent as bingo at the local church when a person can not afford there electric bill. The disease unprotected sex can have and on and on.
Maybe I cannot see people who do these things out of free choice in the same light as you because when I had my store I saw these people day in and out. And most had a prima donna attitude. There was one customer I can think of that did this though out of choice not want. She was a single mother who felt like it was the only way she could pay the bills and still be there for her kids. She did not have to work as many hours for the money. You could tell she hated what she was doing but was doing it for what she thought was a greater cause then herself her kids. She was the one I would discount to the point of losing money I did feel sorry for her.
I also saw your every day girl Jane come in and buy some mind boggling things. More so then I saw guys buying. I had more run ins with kinky girls then guys. I had females request things that I would not even carry in my store. And other then the school girl costumes cannot say the same about the male gender.
Even on this board you are apt to her more expliciate and descriptive details from the females then the males. Myself included and I am a labled LD person.
My point is this a female should not feel degraded by a male when they put themselves in that place to feel that way, And porn and MBing and all the down sides that can effect a marriage relationship or self image is not as one sided to men as it appears.
No more feminist talk from me I seem to be ranting Gosh I hope the subject of what sexual discrimination is never comes up around here lol.
