I do not dispute that porn can become problematic. I will add I do not feel it is just problematic from the male side for every male looking at porn there is a female that is willing to let him look at her. So it is a two sided problem thats why I got a little ruffled when viewing your comments more in line with how a male degrades a woman though viewing porn from a feminist view. point. These woman encourage it for self gain and profit they are not victims.
My daughter works in a strip club as a server makes killer money doing so opted this over college. I am not stating I am in favor of this or disfavor of it. But as I am stating here later in life I do not see me pitying her for her choice it was made freely for everything she reaps now she may suffer for later. But done from her own free will.

I agree with you. People are individuals. Some girls wouldn't get into it if they saw the end result....that's who I was talking about.
Others are numb to the damage. They don't even know it exsists. It does exsist. Whether they see it or not, they do make a choice. And our choice is a gift that we have.

RAther than accepting porn as "normal" it might be of use to those who care to or are open minded to discover than porn hurts the women participating in it...as well as viewers of it.
This is where I disagree with you. One can find the same exploitation of women in film making, broadway, the music industry, anywhere that vulnerable women think they can get a boost to their self esteem (the same goes for men). But porn itself has nothing to do with why those exploited women are hurt. The porn industry is a magnet for these types of women, but it is not the cause of their problems.
I don’t see how you can claim that viewers are hurt by porn either. Viewers who exhibit addictive behavior or have relationship problems are that way because of other things, not because of looking at porn. I think your views are a little too close minded and perhaps you need to take a more objective view at what is troubling our society. Porn is the least of our problems.
I’ll even push this a little farther and stick my neck out, since I get the feeling you are very orthodox, conservative, God fearing…. I propose that the rigidity of the church (which I suspect you believe is the cure for this blight of porn) causes more damage to lost souls, ultimately pushing some of these into porn, than would otherwise be the case. If there were not such a contradiction between the largely pervasive views of the church regarding sex and the true feelings, instincts and natural impulses of people, I think there would be a lot less porn and sexual abuse and fewer pedophiles roaming the streets (and Sunday school) today.

ORTHODOX Jews teach their boys how to make love. Get the book "Dummies..about the Jewish Religion". The chapter on Sex is quite good! They have their teen boys under the bed while having sex to hear HOW to make LOVE WELL to a woman.
If I were you I wouldn't go by your "feelings" as those that you have about me are incorrect. There is a segment of the church that is "victorian" and prudish about sex. But those people DO NOT represent God's view of Sex. Just some view proported by some person.
I also think that you should learn to "listen" as well as read. You say things that I say and feel that I have never said, nor do I. You add way too much between the lines, that was never said. Don't assume...ask people questions about where they stand if you are unclear.
My view about porn is based on:
FACTS that I have READ! STATISTICS that I have SEEN. STUDIES that have been DONE.
That information is all over the internet for people who care to educate themselves on the subject.

I don't go along with the all will drive off a cliff. I fail to believe that anyone that views or works in this industry will fall off that cliff or be forever scarred or emotional wrecked by it. To big of a blanket for everyone to fit under.
Every college person that attends a Keg party while in college is not destined to be a drunken wreck nor is ever person that sits down and plays friday night poker with the guys twice a month destined to be a uncontrollable gambler. Nor is every bar tender that serves a person drinks going to be scarred for the rest of there lifes nor every person that deals a set of cards out. To me it is all the same if you say every person who views porn will have long term bad side of effects then you have to say everyone who drinks a beer in his life will have long term bad side effects.
I know alot of people who went to keggers who now live healthy productive lifes they grew up and grew out of that party phase but look fondly back at the fun it gave them. I also know a few strippers past and present who look at it with the same party had fun mind frame. They are healthy adults with normal lifes and not dragging around lots of baggage from the past.
My hopes for my daughter is that she will wake up one morning and decide that the party life of the club she works in is fun and the money is great but hey its time to grow up and do something more responsible with my life. If not well her choice. Just like the person who went to the keg partys who at age 40 still think life should be nothing more then a party.

You are right some would not. But alot still would we do not live in a uninformed society. We all see the effects of reality from a early age. Has any one of us not seen the effects drinking and driving can have. Or playing with guns. Or playing something as innocent as bingo at the local church when a person can not afford there electric bill. The disease unprotected sex can have and on and on.
Maybe I cannot see people who do these things out of free choice in the same light as you because when I had my store I saw these people day in and out. And most had a prima donna attitude. There was one customer I can think of that did this though out of choice not want. She was a single mother who felt like it was the only way she could pay the bills and still be there for her kids. She did not have to work as many hours for the money. You could tell she hated what she was doing but was doing it for what she thought was a greater cause then herself her kids. She was the one I would discount to the point of losing money I did feel sorry for her.
I also saw your every day girl Jane come in and buy some mind boggling things. More so then I saw guys buying. I had more run ins with kinky girls then guys. I had females request things that I would not even carry in my store. And other then the school girl costumes cannot say the same about the male gender.
Even on this board you are apt to her more expliciate and descriptive details from the females then the males. Myself included and I am a labled LD person.
My point is this a female should not feel degraded by a male when they put themselves in that place to feel that way, And porn and MBing and all the down sides that can effect a marriage relationship or self image is not as one sided to men as it appears.

I found some of what you said insightful and in line with my own thought process.
The fact that we are all standing by our various opinions does not make it meaningless. It shows we are different. And firm in our own believes and view points.
As always there are no right and wronges just differences.
I like to throw things like this out for discussion but sometimes I think I get people so twisted up by my positions that some don't want to comment and just keep quiet or I push my position too far and tick others off. But I try to see it all from a philosophical position, that no one is right or wrong, and just argue strongly what you beleive. If you can't do that, then you must not really beleive it.
