GEL,

Of course I am coming from my perspective. I am countering what I saw as a statement from the female perspective. I think I acknowledged the history on this issue.

But how does that make it all about me? Why is it that if a man stands his ground on an issue like this, something he likes, but that the woman does not, that he is being self centered, insensitive, objectifying, etc? That it is all about him? Why is it OK for the woman to get personal, take this as an assault on her values, and then turn it around to somehow become a form of subjugation or control by men? Is it really about me (men) or is it really about you (women)? I will acknowledge this could be about the mix of the two – the dynamics of the man/woman relationship, but I don’t think it is all about me.
