Julie makes an excellent point. I don't know how many people, myself included, that start exercise routines by themselves then either just quit outright or let it slide so much that they might as well not be working out. If you want to make it stick, do it WITH someone. And make it a priority. Don't allow yourself very many cancellations of your workout "appointments" together. Really, if people will just spend 6 months to a year and get into a good routine, you will continue it indefinitely, usually only stopping if some major life event occurs. Then you need a restart.
Spending $$$ on a personal trainer is a great use of money, if you've got it to spend.
