We switched from Desitin to A&D ointment awhile back and it works great. It even helped clear up a problem that one of the twins had. I didn't completely understand it but it was something about how her "opening" was closing up as a reaction to being in frequent contact with urine or something like that. We just slather the A&D ointment on every time we change her diaper and that problem has cleared up, no need for prescription medication. She will even say things like "I need med-cine on my bottom daddy" if I'm in a hurry and forget.
