Ephesians 5:11-13
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather EXPOSE them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible.

My 2¢:

Well, then, if this scripture clearly admonishes not to even 'mention' the 'disobedience', then it's not saying 'place a call and tip off someone about the wrongdoing', rather, the scripture says that such disobedience becomes 'visible' by being 'exposed by the light'. Meaning what? That the path of wrong-doing when compared to the path of right-doing shows it up for what it is? Isn't it then advocating that the way one 'exposes' wrong-doing means that one lives upright and chooses the right path, and in that way, clearly makes the comparison between what is right and what is wrong evident?

John 3:20
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be EXPOSED.

People engaged in 'doing evil' are sometimes very evident in their actions, their deeds are plain for all to see. This scripture speaks of these people 'not coming into the light', because of their 'hatred' of that light. It's not saying that their deeds are to come into the light, but that they themselves do not want to come into the light. Meaning what? That people engaged in wrong-doing know they're engaged in wrong-doing and don't like hearing different because of the guilt they'd have to acknowledge if they were to accept what they were doing was wrong?
