P&DB - Check with an attorney, but it's my understanding, at least in community property states, that if a spouse owns a home before marriage, but then during the marriage house payments or repairs are paid out of a joint checking account that both spouses contribute money to, the house becomes community property. You may have more rights to the house than you think.
