Let's see, when it happened to me, and she spent some weeks packing, I made sounds about her not leaving, I made sounds about her getting out... bottom line is that they have their minds made up at that point and their resolve is strong and they won't be swayed... so you might as well show them that you're gonna be just fine without them around and yes, maybe they're right, this is a good thing, not exactly the outcome you wanted, but it's that it's their choice. But of course, be sweet and smiley about it, not bitter or sarcastic.
