I had an idea: What if instead of a "rope" it was a "fuse". And what if instead of "dropping it", we "lit it and dropped it"? I think that would be more fun. At least it would be payback for them dropping "the bomb" on us back when... Just a thought.
So Wednesday night I called D13's cell around 7:00 to let her know I was about 30 minutes from home. She said that she was just finishing dinner and "they" were just leaving to drop her off at my house. About 3 minutes later she called back. "Mom wants to know if you can just come and get me since you're on your way up here and that way she doesn't have to leave the condo" (now mind you, she lives 3 blocks away). I said fine (but I thought "How lazy!!"). When I picked her up at the bottom of the exterior stairs, XW came down as well. I helped D13 with her stuff and then D13 looked back at XW and said, "Bye". I made no contact. She just stood there in her sweats as I drove away.
The dinner Thursday night was fine, just a lot of COUPLES!! My brother came over that night and hung out with the kid.
On a side note, the Dodgers have taken all 55,000 seats out of the stadium and are replacing them with new ones. The old ones have been there since the early '70's. Well, they are selling the old ones in sets of two (bolted together and with brackets bolted to the bottom so you can use them) so......I couldn't resist. I went in to LA yesterday and headed up to the stadium. One hour later and $250 lighter I now have two sunfaded, blue plastic, stadium seats from Aisle 22 (Row P, Seats 118 & 119), sitting up in my Loft. I figured that it is a piece of my youth and if I didn't do it, I'd probably regret it 20 years from now.
D13 and I are going Xmas shopping today. We also have to trim the tree. I had to run to KMart and get ornaments. I didn't realize until I opened the box that when XW took the tree down last year, she took probably 80% of the ornaments with her. I guess she needs all of them for her 2 1/2 foot tabletop tree! (sorry, couldn't resist). Tonight we are going to an Xmas party that some of my work peoples are having.
Now time for another installment of "DMF & D13 At the Movies"
Bewitched:Nicole Kidman sure is cute! That's about it. Really bad. I couldn't really follow the plot, if there was one. Rent at your own risk. Bright spot: Steve Carell (40-year-old Virgin, The Office) pretty funny as the old Paul Lynde character from the TV show. At the screening, Nicole probably watched this one through her fingers.
DMF: 0.5 Stars, D13: 1 Star.
That's it for now. I've got to go. I think George Bush is bugging my phone...
