honey, bravo on getting the uglybump removed! Why don't you ask the surgeon to save it and you can have it mounted inside a lucite block... it might come in handy if H pulls any weird stuff in the future. If the story starts to morph into how it was just a teeny tiny bump that was no big deal but HE had it removed to set YOUR mind at ease, you can whip that puppy out and say, "You mean this disgusting golf ball thing?!?"
I'll bet getting that thing removed will improve his disposition considerably.
