Jdd, Be careful of those Russian women. I'm serious. I have a friend who was on "Match.com" and he constantly had them contacting him. A lot of them are looking to become US citenzens. And any amount of money is better than what they have!!!!

I'm not into online dating very much. Haven't had any luck with it. They either panic when I mention the disability, which is necessary to mention because I would never mislead anyone, and then they run - or I get a lot of guys saying 'You're hot, have sex with me'.
You simply wouldn't believe the number of times I have been asked to participate in cyber sex. I of course refused all requests. I even had 1 guy trying to get me to phone him so I could get him off over the phone.
This was just from normal dating agencies. I reported one person to the moderators of the group. I think a lot of these online places are just used by people to get sex, so I quit trying online dating, months ago.
I think if I am ever lucky enough to have a husband, it will be because he liked me first and we got on well and the sex, when it happened, worked. If we can talk for hours and the sexual connection works, that's when I will know that I can have a R with that person.
I think really the starting point has to be friendship and mutual interest/respect.
A lot of sites they don't want to build a friendship, they just want to get straight to 'let's go out clubbing, kiss in the back of a cab and come round to my place for 'coffee' ' on the first meeting.
That is NOT how I want to meet the love of my life, but maybe I'm old fashioned.

As for me, if I meet anyone I would have to be 100% convinced of his attraction and he'd really have to make me go 'wow' before I'd consider anything as it has taken this heart a long time to heal.

No, my only request would be that he ease up on his XW about her parenting and that he keeps a picture of her on the mantel because she is the mother of his child, if he does that, he's 'suitable'.

Well for now its just good for my ego. We are talking like two people curious about each other lives. Cyber sex is not something I am interested in, as far as her being honest, we will see, believe me after what I have just gone through I am watching for red flags.
I know two Texans married to brides from Russia in my town, both families have children now. Will there marriages last, who knows, but I can tell this much, these ladies are very dedicated mothers and wives. For years I had dreams of falling in love with an exotic foreign women. So instead I married a French/Italian that shaves her arm pits and legs, but almost drove me crazy. Now I am free, so why not take the chance on a longtime dream. Before internet, before getting out in the bigger cities I thought this is just foolish to want a lady from India, Spain, Russia or Brazil or, or, or.
My XW had a lady friend that used the internet to get sex. Usually they met within days of chatting to have sex. I would not fall into this trap. Infact this time I would prefer to get married in a church wedding before having sex. I now want a great friend to confide in first, yes I want to do it, but I want a R when the lust wears off.

You know, you probably won't believe this but I made Andy wait to have sex with me until we were engaged. We started dating in February 1994 and it was May before I let him kiss me. Prior to that, we just held hands, went to dinner, to the movies etc.
Then in August 1994 he asked me to marry him and asked to move in with me so I slept with him then. We moved in together in September. Our official engagement was the following April and 2 months after the engagement party I was pregnant, so I ended up being 6 months pregnant on my wedding day.
But I still made him wait until he'd proposed.
I'm a bit old fashioned like that, I wanted to make sure it was love.
My only difficulty with waiting for the wedding night would be that you don't know if you physically 'match'. Some guys I have been with were SO awful I would never want to do that again. 1 guy had a penis that was so tiny (about 3 or 4cm) that I got absolutely NOTHING out of sex with him.

I will not blow money on a "gold digger" whether she is a native texan or a russian. I will not try to impress anyone, they will have to fall in love with me for who I am. I just got scammed by a full blooded american girl who I knew for 20 yrs, she is on her 3rd man besides me this year so any trust will take a considerable amount of "faith building" by any women.
If I get scammed for a green card, at least God will know that my intentions were good. I couldn't hurt as bad as being betrayed by my wife.
After posting on this BB for over a year, I have become trusting of several people, I never thought I would care about my DB friends in the beginning. However now I feel their pain when things go bad for them even though I never met them. By taking my time I will be able to tell if she is really a trustful Christian women or just trying to use me.

You are funny, the 3-4 cm thing would be pretty bad. (In Texas centimeters don't count) LOL. I am not really worried about the "sexual fit", I guess I never had a problem with that happening. One lady many years ago used to cry after ML, that freaked me out for awhile (she was strange anyway) but I think if a man and women really love each other they will learn what each other wants.
After being married for a long time, it takes some creativeness and openness to keep the fire burning.
I find that I miss the company more than anything, so the russian lady may first become my internet friend like you are. My work schedule doesn't give me the opportunity to meet women unless they are my customers, so right now if nothing else I can work on my communications skills with her.
Ok, I have spent way too much time thinking about exotic foreign women today.
By the way my two best friends are from Pakistan, they are Muslim, honest and the most loyal friends that I have. When some of my other Christian or American friends find out they are Muslim they warn me. These guys were the first people to come to my house when my dad died. The church I attended sent nobody, no card, no flowers, nothing. (I changed churches) So I guess I trust non US citizens just as much as anyone else.
