Gotta agree with you there. You’ll note that in my first response I mentioned that women weren’t allowed to divorce their husbands. I’m well aware that women were considered to be property. Their consent was not required for marriage, they could be divorced, put away, sold into slavery (bondage), or whatever. My position is simply that as a Christian, I have to believe that God is a just and fair God. Unless He specifically says otherwise, I have to assume that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander and applies equally.
And that’s the end of any theological discussions from me. CeMar asked a question about Christian teachings and I gave what I clearly stated was my personal opinion. As I said in my last post, this is just my personal opinion – feel free to take it or leave it.
