Lou, for me, it's a LOT more intense than just a feeling of relief. It's almost an electrical charge that lasts for several seconds and I feel it in my pelvic area and in my legs and even in my chest, particularly if I take a deep breath when it happens. It reminds me of breathing in ice-cold air. Then there are a series of intense contractions that last well over a minute. The period of contractions has gotten longer over the years. It's definitely someone one would want to experience again (although not immediately, for me). I know some women have multiple O's very close together-- I've read this-- but for me the one O is so intense, I would need to wait a while. With one guy I knew, we would wait twenty minutes or so then go back at it. Then repeat that again. After three of these in a 2 hour or so period, I was ready to face the day... <sigh>
The stuff I've read on the subject says that basically men and women experience the same sensations when they O. The contractions are like the pulsations that a guy feels. I've never known a guy who (in my perception, being there, close to the action at the time) had more than half a dozen pulsations, whereas I routinely have more than 23-24 contractions.
