Okay... now I'm going to come out of the closet... my best car was a 1978 AMC Pacer. Yup. Drove it for 11 years, then bought an identical one (same year, same color, lower mileage), used, for $600 and drove that one for another couple of years, using the first one for parts. Couldn't ever find parts at a junkyard because there were virtually none of them IN junkyards.
That car was so comfortable because it was roomy on the inside and small on the outside. I worked in the downtown area at the time and had to do a lot of parallel parking at meters. If I could find a space one inch longer than that car, I could park it. When they hauled the original one away for the last time, I cried and cried. The second (used) one I gave to the cleaning lady in 1990. As far as I know, she's still driving it.
