Just a thought here. Perhaps this was your H's clumsy way of being more forceful and "manly" based upon your previous discussion of manly men.
This happened before that convo. And even had it not being a manly man does not include veiled threats. It is really more of his normal behavior trying to manipulate me through fear. I did not bite though.
